Tatton Park 30.07.06 - By Christine G
The North West welcomed with open arms and open hearts, Ronan Keating, onto the stage at Tatton Park.
Looking every inch the gentleman he is, in his black designer suit, Ronan bounded onto the stage with a vigour and boisterous energy that has become synonymous with a Ronan concert.
Starting off his set on a high, he rocked the audience with the raw passion of "Turn it On Again". The cheekily provocative "I love it when we do" catapulted the audience into a party mood. Whilst Ronan has the ability to take his audience into a state of euphoria, as he did at Tatton Park with hits such as "Rollercoaster" and "Lovin each Day" he can then lull you right back down into a feeling of romantic bliss with a string of his loveable ballads.
Ronan played five tracks off his new album, the infectiously chirpy; "Friends in Time", the beautifully atmospheric "Iris", the gutsy "It's so easy lovin you", the sultry "All over again" and the romantically poignant "This I promise you".
Never coy about meeting his fans, Ronan did his customary walk out into the crowd, shaking hands with everyone he could.
Ronan was clearly in a flirtatious and jovial mood, when he came down a second time and ran playfully back and forth in front of a delighted audience, what a joker.
Ronan pulled out all the stops on this concert and Manchester loved the affable Irishman all the more when he declared his appreciation of the warm Mancunian welcome and announced Manchester to be the best concert of the festival circuit so far, good on you Ronan.
Ronan can now sleep easy, knowing that many years on the cheers are getting louder and the fans ever more devoted.
Ronan, thank you for the compliment you paid to my region with your compliments and enthusiasm.
Look forward to doing it all over again at Kenwood House.
