Butlins 09.11.01 - By Cindy

Thanks to the birds we were very early awake. We went out of our beds at half past 8. After breakfast we went to see the park. It was so big! We met the others at half past 10 at Harry's. There I got the Ronan calendar. (Oh oh May!) We talked for some time.
We walked around the tent to find out were we could see Ronan and were he probably would come in. We saw that the merchandise was there already. I bought a scarf and a woollen hat. The tour book was the same as in may. We then decided to get something to eat at the Burger King. Afterwards we went to the house for awhile.
We met the others again at 2 o'clock. The band was doing a sound check then so we went to listen to that. At half past three we just wanted to search for Ronan when we heard his voice from inside the tent! He was there already! All the people outside were screaming when he did his sound check. And then the door was open! We couldn't see inside because it was to dark, but Vickie shouted I saw him! He was in the door!

A few minutes later the door was open again and there he was. RONAN! He looked so happy. That was so great to see. He started to give autographs and he came to our side too. But I was behind three people so I couldn't get an autograph. I did take a photo from him and that became really great!

Ronan was out for the autographs for about 20 minutes. It was so great to see him and in such a good mood.
When Ronan was inside we went to the beach to walk on it. At 6 o'clock we were at the house from our friends. We were wearing our new hats. Near 7 o'clock we were at the concert tent. Our seats were in the middle of the tent. They were not close. But we could see everything good. There were two support acts, Masai and Jamie Benson. Then there were the photos, with a lot of screaming when Westlife was on it, but the most screams were for Ronan of course.

A little before 9 the lights went out and there he was. He came up in the middle of the tent. He started with 'heal me' and after that he said: 'hi di fucking hi, campers!' He was wearing a black jacket a shirt under it and really fantastic trousers. They were blue I think or some colour like that and there were some lighter things on it. They shaped his legs very good with that. Then he sang 'if you love me’, 'some days are like that', 'the way you make me feel', 'once upon a life time', 'addicted' (the movements with his shirt!!!! great!) and 'someday' Then he was away and we thought he would dress into something else but he didn't. We didn't mind because of the great trousers. Then he sang 'picture of you' and 'baby can hold you'. He said he really liked his Boyzone years and that if it wasn't because of that he wouldn't be here now. He also introduced his backing singers Janet and Jo. He told us Jo was pregnant for six months now. While he was saying that, she walked as a very pregnant woman with her hand on her back. And he said: 'you are really doing ok?' He was so sweet!  Then they sung 'love me for a reason'. When Jo was singing Ro walked to the other side of the stage with his hand in his back pretending he was pregnant! Then came 'when you say nothing at all' 'in this life' and 'keep on walking' before he sang this song he said something about the 11th of September. That he was trapped there and that it was so awful. He did this song for the people over there.  'Lovin each day' he invited us to stand with this song. 'Love the way we do', 'life is a rollercoaster' we were standing again. 'Tender' and 'the long goodbye' with this last song he said that who couldn't sit any longer had to stand up. So we did. He said also he really enjoyed it and that it was so long ago he did a show. He didn't want to stop. (It was ok with us if he did more songs!) And there would be no touring till next year. The new single was out in January and the album in Feb/march. After he left we run outside, but we couldn't come close because of the security. :-( We saw him drive away in his car, or actually we saw the cars drive away. We couldn't see if he was in it.
