Gold, Gold, Gold (German TV Show) 07.11.03 - By Julia

Hi,
My name is Julia and I was on the Gold, Gold, Gold show, where you have the possibility to give a gold disc to the star you like. I hope you like my report!

It all started really confusing and strange. The tv station put Ronan into the show, because another star had to cancel his performance. So, all has to go really fast ! The show was on Friday and it was already Wednesday evening.

After a lot of phoning and waiting we get the important phone call at 11.30 pm on Wednesday night and get the "ok" that I was among the three winners. It was really unreal and the time was too short to think about!

On Thursday morning my mother and I were sitting in the train to Hamburg and after arriving, we drove to the playground where we shot the video message for Ronan. The videos should be  related to "LIAR" and I was sitting on a seesaw and it was going up and down like a rollercoaster.
Then we reached the Color line Arena and met the other fans and it slowly began to get exciting.

The next day at 2.30 pm a bus shuttle took us again to the arena, where the preparation for the big show started. It was really interesting and also a bit scary!!  I was really down with my nerves and so are the other fans, Sabine and Andrea.
At about 7.15 pm we entered the arena and were led to our seats. We sat in the 4th row on the right side and haven't got such a good view to the stage.
The show started and we knew that Ronan was the 3rd artist on stage. A guy from the technical staff showed us a banner with "Ronan Keating" on it . This was the sign for us to get ready and followed him behind the stage. There we got our headsets and last information how to act. After that we took our place on our sofas which were placed in front of the stage.

Jörg Pilawa, the host of the show, announced Ronan in a funny way and then he came down the stairs on the right side of the stage. He looked really sexy, dressed in a black vest and used looked jeans!!  Wow, he went directly to Jörg Pilawa and they talked a bit about Ronan's kids and the usual stuff.
Well, now it was our turn.  Ronan was shown the three video messages and he had to choose one of them. Sabine's video was really cool, it was made on the Reeperbahn, which is a nightlife-district in Hamburg. Ronan was laughing with his dirty laugh and I bet he knew the Reeperbahn from his last trip to Germany. I felt a bit relieved, because I thought Ronan would choose Sabine's video.

But then I was really shocked, when he said: I take no.1... Julia !!  Firstly I didn't hear the first words he said and it seems like a very long time until I realised, that he meant me. On my way to the stage he came up to me and hugged me. Then he went down to Sabine and Andrea and hugged and kissed them, too. That was a really lovely gesture from him!! Bless him! Coming back it was my turn to say my text and to give him the gold disc. At first I have forgotten my text, which I have to say, when I stood in front of him. I was so nervous, but I had to put all the rest of the text I could remember together and something came out of my mouth. I gave him the gold disc and Ronan went off to the stage. I was led from Jörg P. to the sofa, which was placed on the stage, so I have a nice view on Ronan. MMh, really nice view! He started to sing Lost For Words.

Wow, his voice is live really brilliant and when he came to a special part of the song he took the microphone from the stand and came into my direction. I thought: That isn't true, is it?? But he sat down beside me and hugged me again, but so strong that I have to put my head on his shoulder (I can hold you tight for hours). That was so cute. It was unbelievable!!

After the song we went backstage. He led me to the seats and we said "Hello" to Jeanette Biedermann and her fan. It was a really relaxed situation and Ronan is the one who took your fear away. He talks in a very normal way and is really down to earth.
We had a very nice conversation. He asked me, how old I am and when I said: 16 , he answered when he was 16, he started in BZ. And if I knew BZ?  (Ehm,sure !!!)
We had a lot of fun and  DJ Bobo and his fan came over to say hello. They were throwing with Smarties (M+Ms) and Ronan opened his mouth and the Bobo fan succeeded with the 2nd attempt to hit Ronan's mouth with one M+M.

He also told me that he liked that kind of show and it would be great to have such fan and star meeting in the UK.
Later on Sting sang in the show a new song. We followed the show on screens in the backstage area and Ronan is a huge fan of Sting. He knew the song and sang it so far he knew the lyrics. I must say, it sounds better than the original on stage. lol...

He was a bit in a hurry, because he has to fly home later on. " I have to run to the plane" but still stays.
They took a few pics with the polaroid and on every pic he hugged me again. It was a real good feeling!!! He signed a few pics and suddenly he took the gold disc, wrote a few words on it and gave it to me!!

First I didn't believe that and said to him: this is a joke!
He: No, no its for you !!! Wow, that was the best present I ever received!!!
At the end of the show, we all went on stage for the big finale. Ronan ("I have to run") said goodbye to me and hugged and kissed me again on both cheeks. So did I and kissed his stubbles!!  lol....

Its really difficult to write every single word down what we talked together. But he's a very cute and lovely person, to whom its fun to talk with. BTW he had had 2 and a half JD with Coke and he likes Raffaelo ( kind of Pralinee with coco) !!!!! lol
Yeah, I had 1 1/2  an hour with Ronan, that's what every fan is dreaming of. I will never forget this and it will always stay on my mind !!!
